Investing in our schools
The NSW Government is investing $8.6 billion in school infrastructure over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested in projects delivered since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure.
The NSW Department of Education is committed to delivering new and upgraded schools for communities across NSW. The delivery of these important projects is essential to the future learning needs of our students and supports growth in the local economy.
Project overview
We are upgrading Fairvale High School with new and improved education facilities to support the growing student community. The project is delivering:

• new multipurpose hall including gym facilities, stage and canteen (Building J)
• improved outdoor play space, including a new covered outdoor learning area (COLA)
• new and expanded staff administration facilities (Block A).
New multipurpose hall building and upgraded administration building are now in use
Work on the school upgrade is nearing completion. We’re excited to confirm that Building J and Building A are finished and in use by the school.
Building J is a multipurpose hall that includes gym facilities, stage and canteen. Images of new Building J can be found on the following page, we look forward to students using this new space. Previously used as administration facilities, Building A has been upgraded to include staff study and meeting spaces, a print and preparation room and new toilet facilities.
Next steps
The final works to complete the upgrade include landscaping to the area previously utilised for demountable buildings and final make good works to external areas of Block J. This will be completed by early Term 3 2022.
