At Fairvale High School, we understand the transition from primary school to high school can be very stressful and daunting for students.
We believe the importance of ensuring that students feel safe and supported through this milestone. We believe in collaboration with our feeder primary schools and the community is the key to a successful transitions program, which will ensure our students smoothly and confidently transition from Years 6 to 7.
The program will provide the opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with the teachers, students, the school structure and subjects we offer to ensure students are ready for their move to Fairvale High School.
Orientation day is held at Fairvale High School in December. Parents/carers are invited to attend a ‘Welcome Assembly’ addressed by the Principal, Deputy Principal of Stage 4, the Head Teacher Welfare and the Head Teacher Transitions. Students will then be taken on an orientation tour of the school led by members of the Student Representative Council (SRC) and Peer Support Leaders to familiarise themselves with the layout and structure of the school. Students will also take part in a series of activities to get to know the school and make new friends.
